Behaviour Interactive, the developer behind the popular multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, has confirmed that the Hellraiser Chapter will be removed from the store in April 2025, leaving many fans disappointed. Elliot Spencer, also known as The Cenobite or Pinhead, joined Dead by Daylight as a Killer in Chapter 21: Hellraiser. The character is drawn from the 1987 horror movie franchise based on Clive Barker’s 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart.
Dead by Daylight launched in 2017 and features one-versus-four gameplay, where one player takes on the role of the Killer and hunts the remaining Survivors, sacrificing them to the Entity. Eight years after its release, the survival horror game remains popular, even attracting a celebrity fanbase. Chandler Riggs, star of The Walking Dead, recently revealed which character he would like to see added to the Dead by Daylight roster. Despite constant fan discussions about which Killers and Survivors should join the game, the community was caught off guard by the news that Pinhead would be leaving.
In a recent blog post and social media announcement, Behaviour confirmed that the Hellraiser Chapter will leave the Dead by Daylight store on April 4, 2025. However, the developer reassured players that any content unlocked from the Chapter before that date will remain available in-game. Initially, fans thought the Hellraiser sale event meant that the Cenobite would disappear for good, but they can still take advantage of the ongoing Last Chance Sale, which offers 50% off The Cenobite and his cosmetics. Behaviour also stated that the Hellraiser Chapter will no longer be available in first-party stores and will only be accessible through the in-game store until April.

Fortunately, Behaviour confirmed that the Hellraiser voice lines will remain in the game even after the Chapter is removed.
Elliot Spencer is one of the 38 Killers in Dead by Daylight. He can use Chain Projectiles and solve the Lament Configuration to torment all Survivors at once. His Perks include Deadlock, Hex: Plaything, and Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, providing slow Generator Progression to further torment Survivors. Players still have a month to experience Pinhead in action while the Chapter remains active in-game.
